CT1002 – Software Engineer (Product) – (Location: Bellevue, WA; Onsite)

Location: Bellevue, WA (Onsite 5 days a week)

Job Type: Full Time

Years of Experience: 1-4

Technical Skills:
• Strong front-end development with production-grade product engineering experience
• Proficiency with AI-assisted coding tools (Claude, Cursor, Codex) as force multipliers
• Experience building agentic systems and LLM-integrated product features
• Code comprehension and quality assessment—reads every line, not just vibe-coding

Role Priorities:

• Active GitHub account with visible side projects, shipped personal apps, or open-source contributions
• Startup background with demonstrated product shipping velocity
• AI tooling fluency combined with strong underlying engineering fundamentals
• High-agency mindset—has naturally started businesses, built projects, or pushed through hard problems independently
• Front-end expertise paired with product instincts (notices UX issues, doesn't just implement to spec)

This Role Is NOT:

• A remote or hybrid position—requires in-person presence 5 days/week in Bellevue, WA
• Suitable for FAANG-tenured engineers without startup or side-project track records
• For candidates "open to" startup but equally comfortable at large companies
• A structured environment with management layers or predictable 9-5 schedules
• Appropriate for engineers who rely heavily on AI tools without understanding the generated code

Our client is building the next generation of consumer AI travel technology, backed by top-tier investors operating at significant scale. The team has deep roots in travel infrastructure, having already built systems serving tens of millions of passengers monthly through partnerships with major global brands. This role joins a fast-growing consumer product experiencing rapid month-over-month booking volume growth driven entirely by product quality and edge-case coverage improvements.

Position Overview

As the second product engineer on the team, you will own a critical layer of engineering work—the space between rapid prototyping and infrastructure-level systems work. The founding team can conceptualize product features to 85% completion, then needs someone who can drive the final 20% to production-ready quality with speed and precision. This role requires the ability to take complex product engineering problems, leverage AI coding tools effectively while maintaining deep code comprehension, and ship reliable features that handle real-world edge cases. You'll report directly to the CEO in a flat engineering organization with no intermediate management.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of product engineering problems requiring both correctness and execution velocity
• Expand agentic capabilities within the product and build out new AI-powered features as the platform matures
• Close the quality gap on AI-generated code—refining, debugging, and hardening features beyond what LLMs produce independently
• Ship production features reliably without requiring extended timelines or excessive support
• Collaborate with design and engineering teammates to transform prototypes into polished, user-facing products
• Identify and resolve edge cases that impact user experience and booking success rates

Qualifications

• 1-4 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably at startups
• Proven front-end engineering capabilities with product-minded development approach
• Demonstrated experience integrating AI coding tools into workflow while maintaining code quality standards
• Familiarity building agentic systems, expanding LLM tool sets, or shipping AI-integrated product features (highly preferred)
• Track record of high-agency personal projects—side businesses, shipped apps, hackathon wins, or meaningful open-source contributions
• Natural startup energy and explicit desire to work in fast-paced, high-growth environments
• Ability to move quickly through problems without sacrificing attention to detail
• Collaborative mindset with low ego and strong team orientation
• Willingness to work in-person full-time (5 days/week) in Bellevue, WA
• US work authorization or H-1B sponsorship eligibility

What's Offered

• Ground-floor opportunity on a rapidly scaling consumer product with proven traction
• Direct collaboration with experienced founders who have built travel technology at global scale
• Flat organizational structure with direct CEO reporting and high visibility
• Chance to shape product direction and technical decisions in a fast-moving environment
• Exposure to cutting-edge AI agent development and LLM product integration
• Competitive compensation package
• Visa sponsorship available for qualified candidates

If you're energized by the prospect of building AI-powered consumer products, have a proven track record of shipping high-quality work quickly, and thrive in startup environments where agency and ownership matter more than process—we'd love to hear from you. Apply below.
