About Our Client
Technology has transformed nearly every major industry—except some of the most heavily regulated. Our client is changing that by building a modern software platform for one of the largest and most operationally complex sectors in financial services. Their products combine scalable infrastructure, intelligent automation, and deep domain expertise to eliminate manual processes and power the next generation of financial operations. Engineers tackle technically demanding problems that require both strong systems thinking and a product mindset, all within a highly collaborative, fast-moving environment.

Position Overview
This is an opportunity for a staff-level backend engineer to own some of the platform's most technically challenging initiatives. You'll define architecture, drive implementation, and solve distributed systems problems that directly impact customers at scale. Rather than maintaining mature systems, you'll help shape the technical foundation of a platform that continues to evolve rapidly.
You'll remain a hands-on engineer while partnering with product, design, and fellow engineers to deliver scalable solutions that balance long-term architecture with fast execution.

Who Thrives in This Role
-
You enjoy owning the hardest technical problems. You're the engineer teammates look to when systems become complex or architectural decisions carry long-term consequences.
-
You build products—not platforms for other engineers. Your experience centers around customer-facing backend systems that create real business value.
-
You lead through technical excellence. You influence architecture, design, and engineering quality by setting the example rather than managing people.
-
You prefer ownership over process. Small, fast-moving teams where engineers make decisions energize you far more than heavily layered organizations.
