The platform brings together virtual banking, payments, and cryptocurrency wallet capabilities into a seamless ecosystem, enabling users to move money more easily across borders and within their everyday financial lives. The mission is to help build stronger financial rails for the billions of people underserved by traditional banking systems. This is a small, senior-only engineering organization based in San Francisco. The team moves quickly, works directly with experienced founders, and gives every hire meaningful ownership over product decisions, architecture, and execution from day one.

Position Overview

As a Full Stack Engineer / Technical Lead, you will take a hands-on leadership role in designing, building, and scaling a reliable, performant, and secure consumer financial product. You will bring technical breadth across mobile, web, and backend systems, along with the judgment to make sound architectural decisions and guide a high-performing engineering team. This role will work across an iOS application, Android application, React web application, and standalone backend services. The product environment includes real-money movement at international scale, with meaningful compliance, fraud prevention, data integrity, and latency considerations. You will collaborate closely with product, design, operations, and the founding team to establish engineering standards and deliver high-quality software. This role is well suited for an experienced builder who can lead through execution, mentor others, and grow into broader engineering leadership as the platform expands.

Technical Skills

• Mobile Development: Experience with native iOS development in Swift and/or Android development in Kotlin.

• Web Development: Strong experience building production web applications with React and TypeScript.

• Backend Engineering: Experience developing scalable backend services using Python, FastAPI, Go, Rust, or comparable technologies.

• Data & Infrastructure: Working knowledge of PostgreSQL, AWS, modern CI/CD practices, and cloud-native system design.

• Financial Systems: Familiarity with payments, ledgering, fraud prevention, AML, compliance, or financial orchestration systems.

• Architecture: Ability to design secure, reliable systems that can support high-volume consumer applications and international money movement.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the technical architecture across mobile, web, backend, infrastructure, and financial systems.

• Build and ship reliable consumer-facing features across iOS, Android, web, and backend platforms.

• Lead technical decisions related to payments workflows, ledgering, fraud prevention, AML, compliance, and system integrity.

• Establish engineering standards for code quality, testing, deployment, observability, security, and incident response.

• Collaborate directly with founders and cross-functional partners to prioritize product and technical initiatives.

• Mentor engineers and provide hands-on technical guidance throughout the development lifecycle.

• Identify scalability, reliability, and security risks early and implement practical solutions.

• Help shape the long-term engineering organization, platform strategy, and development processes.

 

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience building and shipping consumer-facing mobile and/or web applications.

• Meaningful full-stack experience with technologies such as React/TypeScript, Python, Go, Rust, PostgreSQL, AWS, and modern CI/CD tooling.

• Experience working at a banking, credit card, cryptocurrency, remittances, lending, payments, or related financial-technology organization.

• Strong understanding of financial workflows such as anti-fraud, AML, ledgering, payment orchestration, or transaction processing.

• Demonstrated experience making architectural decisions, leading technical projects, and mentoring engineers.

• Track record of operating effectively in fast-moving startup or growth-stage environments.

• Strong systems-thinking, communication, and product-design instincts.

• Experience building for Latin American markets is highly valued.

• Ability to work onsite from the San Francisco headquarters five days per week.
