CT1021 – AI Product Engineer (Location: New York, NY - Onsite)

Location: New York, NY (In Office, 5 days/week)
Job Type: Full Time
Years of Experience: 2+ Years (Sweet spot: ~4 Years)

About Our Client

Our client is transforming how go-to-market teams operate by turning every customer interaction into structured data, insights, and intelligent action. Their AI agents help organizations execute faster, learn continuously, and make deal cycles more predictable and efficient. Trusted by hundreds of rapidly growing B2B companies, the business is building out a small, high-caliber NYC engineering presence — direct access to the CPO, a flat and collaborative structure, and significant investment in developer tooling and internal efficiency.

Position Overview

This is an AI-native product engineering role for someone who ships — someone who takes a customer need from design through production and owns it end-to-end. You will work directly with product, design, and field-facing engineers to build and deliver customer-facing AI features, with the autonomy to influence both technical and product direction.

This is a hands-on IC role operating five days a week in-person in NYC. Technical brilliance is the primary bar. A builder's mentality and steep growth trajectory will fit this role better than someone optimizing for comfort.

Technical Skills

  • AI-forward software development lifecycle with real LLM and agent workflows in production

  • LLM harnesses and agentic systems

  • Distributed systems, infrastructure, and scaling

  • Concurrent and async processing

  • Strong software design fundamentals and system-design judgment

  • Testing, monitoring, and production reliability

  • End-to-end feature ownership — front-to-back

  • RAG, vector databases, and LLM evaluation harnesses (strong plus)

Role Priorities

  • Drive end-to-end design and implementation of customer-facing AI features.

  • Own features front-to-back, including testing, monitoring, and production maintenance.

  • Collaborate closely with product, design, and field-facing engineers.

  • Support customer-critical initiatives while managing independent projects in parallel.

  • Influence platform direction through technical and product ideas.

  • Balance immediate business needs with long-term architectural health.

  • Run the full software development lifecycle and own your systems in production.

Who Thrives in This Role

  • You've owned features all the way to production. You can walk through a feature you scoped, designed, built, tested, shipped, and supported — and tell us what you'd do differently.

  • You have real AI/LLM experience, not prompt engineering. You've built harnesses, evals, agentic workflows, or RAG systems that run in production and are used by real customers.

  • You have a builder's mentality. Scrappy, high-ownership, adaptable — you figure things out and are energized by hard problems, not comfortable paths.

  • You bring a product lens alongside a technical one. You care about what you're building and why, not just how. Customer impact informs your technical decisions.

  • You thrive in-office and in-person. You're energized by collaboration, fast feedback, and working alongside a high-caliber team in a structured work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement customer-facing AI product features end-to-end.

  • Own features through design, testing, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing production support.

  • Build and maintain scalable AI systems including LLM harnesses, agentic workflows, and data pipelines.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering.

  • Contribute to platform architecture and key technical decisions.

  • Uphold high standards for testing, reliability, and code quality across owned systems.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of software engineering experience; sweet spot around 4 years.

  • Demonstrated AI-forward engineering practice — LLM harnesses, agentic workflows, or evals running in production.

  • Strong distributed systems and infrastructure experience.

  • Experience with concurrent and async processing at scale.

  • End-to-end ownership of shipped, customer-facing features.

  • Strong product and customer instincts.

  • Must be able to work in person in New York City five days per week. This is non-negotiable.

  • Visa sponsorship available.

What's Offered

  • Competitive salary and meaningful equity.

  • Comprehensive benefits.

  • In-person, high-caliber team environment in NYC's SoHo/NoHo neighborhood.

  • Direct access to senior leadership, including the CPO.

  • Relocation assistance available for exceptional candidates.

If you're an AI-native product engineer who owns features end-to-end, has shipped real LLM and agent systems to production, and thrives in a high-output in-person environment, we'd love to hear from you.
